Flavor Profile

Rich dark ruby color. Very deep concentrated aromas of blackberry and jammy black currant—with airing, lots of complexing nuances begin to develop, such as coffee, cedar, vanilla, chocolate, green olive along with hints of earth. On entry the wine is very soft yet very full with excellent concentration balanced with supple elegant tannins. Flavors of cherry, cedar, coffee and vanilla. The finish is long, rich and pleasurable.

  • From RobertParker.com: "The 1991 Profile offers an exceptional...

… glass of wine. The opaque dark/ruby/purple color and subtle, minty, toast, and mineral-scented nose are followed by a full-bodied wine with great definition, outstanding ripeness and richness, and a European sense of elegance and grace. The ripe tannin and new oak are well-integrated. Approachable now, this wine promises to evolve and improve for at least a decade. It will keep for 15-20 years.” —Robert Parker, Jr. [92 POINTS]

  • From Wine Spectator:" Smooth and polished up front, with supple...

… currant, coffee, mineral and spice flavors before the substantial tannins kick in. Finishes with a hint of mint and drying tannins.” —James Laube [90 POINTS]
